January 15, 2008 Michigan Democratic Presidential Primary
Democratic ballot has been reduced by a party penalty to a field of only three candidates still seeking the nomination, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich. While Christopher Dodd's name is still present on the ballot, he withdrew his candidacy. Write-in votes for any of the other Democratic candidates WILL NOT be counted. Instead, you are advised to vote for "uncommitted." If 15% of voters choose "uncommitted," they will be represented by delegates at the 2008 Democratic National Convention who can vote for any candidate they choose -- assuming Michigan's 156 delegates are restored.

Michigan has an “open” primary, which means you will be presented and can choose either parties' ballot and at the polls without having to be affiliated with either. This means Democratic voters can vote for a candidate in the Republican Presidential Primary.
